    Camping on the Francis Marion National Forest


    Camping is allowed in our developed campground (Buck Hall) and in designated primitive sites (Honey Hill & Elm Wood Hunt Camp). Visitors who wish to camp outside of these areas (dispersed camping) may obtain a free permit from the Francis Marion local district office (M-F), Sewee Visitor Center (W-Sat) or online.

    Dispersed Camping Online Permit - can take up to 24 to 48 hours for processing. Submit by Thursday for timely processing.
